Villarruel Meets Agriculture Producers in San Salvador

Vice President Victoria Villarruel recently met with agricultural producers and highlighted a difference with the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, who had a disagreement with a producer demanding a reduction in export taxes.

Villarruel visited rice producers grouped in the Agrarian Federation in the town of San Salvador, Entre RĂos, listening to their grievances. This visit adds to her previous meeting with the authorities of Rural Confederations of Argentina (CRA), where she sought to strengthen the relationship with the agricultural sector.

In the words of Carlos Castagnani, president of CRA, "This meeting represented an opportunity to work together to improve the development conditions in our rural communities."

In contrast, Caputo responded dismissively on social media to a producer requesting a tax reduction.

On Saturday, Villarruel attended the XVII National Rice Festival alongside the president of FAA, which was appreciated by the sector. During the event, the urgency of reducing tax pressure, the need for multi-risk insurance, and accessible credit for small and medium producers were discussed.

Additionally, the importance of supporting agricultural cooperatives, which group the majority of producers, was discussed with the vice president. National Senator Alfredo De Angeli also participated in this meeting.
